You will immediately know these words are magic when you read them. I was introduced to them by a Ron Cordes video. What are the 5 magic words? Who is Ron Cordes?

Forbes says Ron Cordes is the “poster boy” for the “encore” career and entrepreneur movement. According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), the “encore” career and entrepreneur movement essentially consists of people over 50 starting second careers or new businesses.
Ron is a 30+ year veteran of the investment industry. He co-founded AssetMark Investment Services and grew it to 25 billion dollars under management. Cordes is now focused on going from “profits to purpose” or as Lloyd Reeb says from “success to significance!” He co-founded the Cordes Foundation to assist him with the transition. The Foundation’s goal is to advance market based solutions that address the world’s most challenging problems.
I discovered Ron’s “impact investing” and “do good-do well” philosophy from the Amala Paradigm management team of Grace Kataoka and Ash Sharma. For those of you who were like me and had never heard of impact investing, the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) defines it as follows:
“Impact investments are investments made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return. Impact investments can be made in both emerging and developed markets, and target a range of returns from below-market to above-market rates, depending upon the circumstances.”
